Viewpoint has unveiled a new solution for its comprehensive Spectrum Construction Software suite that will significantly advance construction data analytics and business intelligence.

Spectrum Business Intelligence allows users to collect, compile and analyze construction data virtually any way they want to. From in-depth reporting tools, to dashboards, creative charts, graphs and even geographical mapping of data, Spectrum Business Intelligence provides a powerful data analysis platform designed for the business user. Using easy drag-and-drop features, users can access their Spectrum data, as well as apply measurements and dynamic calculations with a few clicks of a button. Users can easily create comprehensive reports, dashboards and data visualizations.

Once users have compiled and analyzed construction data the way they want, they can save and share it with other people, groups, project teams–or throughout the entire organization. Through intuitive folder sharing and an integrated scheduler, users can push reports to their targeted audience one at a time or on a periodic basis.

Viewpoint Vice President of Product Strategy for Spectrum Scott Rosenbloom noted that Spectrum Business Intelligence lets everyday users easily explore, report and visualize their financial and operations data that once required expensive third-party tools and experienced consultants to build and significant IT department commitment to maintain.

“One of the long-standing challenges with construction data reporting software is, if the report or data isn’t presented exactly as the user wants it, the company may need additional report development work to create the required report,” Rosenbloom said. “Today’s construction leaders want tools that are going to help them quickly identify and drill down into data in ways relevant to their business. Spectrum Business Intelligence provides that level of flexibility.”

Spectrum Business Intelligence comes loaded with a large variety of prebuilt templates and drag-and-drop analysis tools to easily modify and extend included reports. These tools enable business users to create simple charts and dashboards as well as more extensive and detailed reports.

Viewpoint Chief Products Officer Matt Harris noted, for Spectrum Business Intelligence to make a measurable, positive impact in the construction industry, it needed to achieve three key technology goals:

Contractors needed easy access to their information from any location and device.
The information must be easily manipulated and visualize to provide actionable intelligence.
The information has to be easily distributed to those who are in the best position to act upon that information to drive operational efficiencies and optimize profit margins.
“Viewpoint is rather unique in our industry in that we’re not just a software vendor, but a true technology partner,” Harris said. “We consistently research and apply the latest technology approaches and innovation to tackle the changing needs and demands of our clients. In providing a solution like Spectrum Business Intelligence, our goal is to evolve and take construction analytics to the next level.”
