The California Transportation Commission (CTC) in the US has allocated $825 million in new funding to 92 highway, transit, and rail projects that will upgrade the state’s transportation system.
The state has allocated $525 million for two projects in Los Angeles County which include the $470 million Gerald Desmond Bridge and the $55 million for Interstate 10/Interstate 605 Direct Connector.
Some of the other projects include $4.7 million to rehabilitate 17.4 lane miles of roadway on State Route 299 from near Cedarville to the Nevada State line in Modoc county, and $3.7 million for highway work near Marysville, from east of Levee Road to west of Loma Rica Road that will rehabilitate 9.5 lane miles of roadway in Yuba county.
Another $92,000 to construct landscaping and architectural enhancements in Dorris along State Route 97 at the Plaza near City Hall in Siskiyou county. The project includes sculptures, sidewalks, pedestrian lighting and security cameras and provides aesthetic enhancements.
The state has also allocated $276,000 for Lake California Drive Bikeway to construct a Class I bike path near Cottonwood, at the intersection of Main Street and Lake Drive to Del Mar Boulevard in Tehama county.
Also, $339,000 in Kingsburg to install safety median islands and aesthetic landscaping on Sierra Street between Bethel Avenue and State Route 99 in Fresno county and $390,000 to landscape half a mile of the median on Christoffersen Parkway from Geer Road to North Olive Avenue in the city of Turlock.
