Balfour Beatty Construction announced today the promotion of Sean DeMartino to President of their Florida Division, which has principle offices in Orlando and Plantation. DeMartino’s promotion is part of a planned succession of leadership in Florida to position the division for future growth. In his new role, DeMartino will focus on continuing the Florida Division’s development in its core markets including education, hospitality, criminal justice, federal, transportation and healthcare. In addition, he will be working with his leadership team, to maintain momentum in creating value-based solutions for special projects, integrated project delivery, public-private partnerships and other innovative client applications.

DeMartino joined Balfour Beatty Construction in 1993 as Project Engineer. In 2002, he was promoted to vice president in charge of Florida’s hospitality division and earned another promotion to senior vice president in 2006.
“Sean has grown up in our organization and has proven himself by leading some challenging projects, and developing key relationships with strategic clients,” said Mike Wood, Florida Division’s Chief Operating Officer.
DeMartino earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction from the University of Florida’s College of Design, Construction and Planning. Since 2001, he has been a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. Central Florida Chapter where he has served as Chairman of the Board, Chairperson and member of numerous committees. He has served as President of the University of Florida Building Construction Alumni Chapter and is an active member of the Central Florida Hospitality and Lodging Association, the Hospitality Industry Network, Professional Construction Estimators Association, and the National Indian Gaming Association. DeMartino also serves on the national Operations Leadership Team for Balfour Beatty Construction and is a member of Central Florida Partnership.
