Affiliated Blind of Louisiana Training Center (ABL) has broken ground for a residential development called Daigle House Apartments for the physically disabled, blind and others in Lafayette, Louisiana, US.
Daigle House Apartments will be a 32 unit complex, which will consist of 16 one bedroom, 621 square feet units and 16 two bedroom, 820 square feet units. The development will also house an office, common areas, community areas, outdoor eating and grilling area, as well as a playground. Construction is anticipated to be completed by mid-2012.
The nonprofit corporation Daigle House Apartments Incorporated was formed to own and operate Daigle House Apartments. The total cost of the development is estimated to be $3.81 million. The company has secured $224,000 Affordable Housing Program grant from BancorpSouth Bank and FHLB Dallas in 2011 for the development of the residential scheme for low- to moderate-income, special needs residents.
