Saudi-based Mubarak A. AlSuwaiket and Sons Oil & Gas Services Company (AlSuwaiket O&G) has unveiled plans for its groundbreaking new industrial facility within the King Salman Energy Park (Spark), a pivotal hub in the energy market.
Spanning 41,081 square meters within Spark, the facility is slated to start operations in Q2 2025. Positioned as a cornerstone in the regional oil field products and services industry, it will offer a comprehensive range of engineering solutions for both the oil and gas sector and the alternative energy sector, according to reports.
The facility will cater to various needs including drilling techniques, treatment and disposal of drilling waste, production of anti-rust materials, onshore and offshore pipeline maintenance, artificial intelligence applications, and security technologies.
This investment is in alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, aimed at enhancing localisation efforts and fostering domestic capabilities across manufacturing, technology, and service sectors.
Nabil Chaachou, VP of Business Development at Spark, expressed satisfaction at AlSuwaiket Oil & Gas’ involvement, emphasising their role in advancing localisation within the energy value chain and solidifying Spark’s position as a regional energy hub.
He said, “We are delighted and looking forward to our partnership with Spark. We believe it is an effective opportunity to direct our investments to support the oil, gas, energy, and environmental sectors to achieve the goals of the 2030 vision.”
“As we recognize the high potential of Spark, we are investing with international companies to provide them with a professional and business-friendly environment to export their experience to the kingdom,” he added.
The agreement for the construction was signed in 2022. SPARK stands as a premier industrial ecosystem, rooted in sustainability, serving as a gateway to opportunities within the Saudi energy sector and beyond. This Saudi megaproject champions socio-economic progress both domestically and internationally, spearheading the Kingdom’s participation in the global energy evolution. It provides a top-tier ecosystem at the nucleus of the energy market, welcoming investors and tenants to engage in a world-class environment.
Earlier this year, SPARK signed an agreement with Schneider Electric, a global leader in digital transformation, energy management and energy efficiency, to build a multi-faceted manufacturing facility. The 20,000 sq. meters, facility will be built within SPARK, located between Dammam and Al-Ahsa. The facility will manufacture key systems including Distributed Control System (DCS), Emergency Shutdown System (ESD) and Compressor Control System (CCS) to support Saudi Arabia’s energy value chain.
