Sudlows, a UK-based infrastructure specialist, in partnership with Softcat, an IT solution provider, has secured a contract to design and build the new data centre for Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust in the UK.
Under the new contract, Sudlows will deliver a complete 14 rack data centre facility that will accommodate a load of 100kW. The adjacent plant space will be used for new switchboard and UPS units, as well as, for providing high speed optical fibre connectivity.
To balance cooling and critical power, which is essential to maintain an efficient facility, Sudlows provides a flexible design which, in turn, provides a modular expansion that allows the systems to be installed in line with the current and anticipated operating loads.
Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is an integrated provider of hospital, community and primary care services, including the University Teaching Hospital.
