The host of end-to-end solutions enables the entire ecosystem to integrate and deliver a simplified, efficient and reliable print process, compared to manual processes.

Construction’s biggest challenge: improving productivity

The construction industry, despite its global output of $13 trillion in 2023, faces significant productivity challenges. By 2040, the industry is expected to grow by 70 percent, but engineers and contractors are already struggling to meet current demands. Workforce shortages, retirements, and competition for talent have caused a decline in skills and experience. From 2000 to 2022, construction productivity rose by only 10 percent, compared to a 50 percent increase in the overall economy.

“We urgently need to narrow the gap between the construction industry’s lagging productivity and its critical economic and societal role,” says Daniel Martinez, Global Head and General Manager, HP Large Format. “HP equips the sector with the right tools to improve communication, collaboration, and unlock growth leveraging hardware and software solutions that are intuitive, efficient and responsibly designed.”

Introducing HP Build Workspace

Workflows in construction are fragmented and stakeholders need to communicate at each stage of the timeline. HP Build Workspace provides seamless integration between digital and physical workflows, so AEC professionals can effortlessly create and organize site observations, automate field reports, provide real-time feedback, and benefit from AI vectorization of technical designs. By simplifying complexity, improving communication and automating manual processes between the office and field sites, HP Build Workspace saves hours of manual work for vectorized files, depending on design complexity[3].

Connecting Construction Site Layouts with HP SitePrint 3.0

HP Build Workspace connects construction sites with design offices, streamlining workflows and accelerating the digitization of the construction industry. It integrates with HP SitePrint, a robotic solution that prints complex layouts with 10x the productivity of manual methods[4].

The HP SitePrint Value Pack 3.0 brings a suite of exciting new features designed to boost productivity and operational autonomy. It introduces features like a 30%[5] improvement in print accuracy, smart navigation, safety stop technology, and shadowing[6]. Additionally, HP is announcing that the company is working with large HP SitePrint customers on a Proof-of-Concept to check surface flatness, which will be available as a subscription service in selected markets by 2025.

Simplifying your printing experience

HP is taking sustainability to the highest level within large format print, with the goal to achieve net zero carbon emissions across the entire value chain.  Redesigning the HP DesignJet T200/T600 Printer series 2025 Edition, showcases HP’s commitment to sustainability. With added features that reduce energy consumption[7]and plastics use[8], the HP DesignJet T200/T600 Printer series 2025 Edition, reduces plastic waste by more than 50% thanks to a new molded fiber packaging[9] and the removal of most plastic bags[10].

The new enhanced HP DesignJet T200/T600 Printer series 2025 Edition bring also extreme printing simplicity for small and medium size business, thanks to the new HP Click Driver: the world’s most advanced large format driver[11].

The new solution is the most significant driver update for large format printers in the last 30 years and the culmination of the best-in-class services from HP Click Print. It enables AEC professionals to “print preview” designs from any Windows 11 application[12], turning the printing process into a reliable, efficient, integrated smart-flow that avoids the pain of reprints, unseen errors, and wasted print resources, while enjoying the ability to “Save to PDF”[13] and “send to print” all in one place.

“HP’s DesignJet Series are designed with simplicity, sustainability and security in mind. Thanks to the printer on/off auto scheduler saving up to 65% energy in our HP DesignJet T200/T600 Printer series 2025 Edition, we know our large format printers are working towards HP’s sustainability goals” said Daniel Martínez, Global Head and General Manager, HP Large Format. “And connecting the printer with HP Click Driver provides an intuitive and effortless printing, while making sure that users avoid unnecessary waste and reduce energy consumption, contributing to our goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions across our entire value chain”.

World-class Large Format print protection with HP Wolf Security

According to 69% of small and medium businesses (SMBs)[14], security is ‘very important’ and they are fearful of the financial impact cyberattacks could have on business. The launch of HP Wolf Essential and HP Wolf Pro mean small to medium sized business are safeguarded with HP’s Wolf Security, which offers the most advanced security technology for large-format printers. From government-grade and large enterprises to mid-large businesses and small offices, HP Wolf Security offers security features suitable for all market segments. All large format printers are safeguarded from potential threats, reducing vulnerabilities and enhancing resilience.

“Over the next 12 months, we will be integrating all these digital services and solutions to create one platform that enables AEC professionals to work together seamlessly across projects and verticals”, explains Daniel Martínez, Global Head and General Manager, HP Large Format. “Our goal is to create an ecosystem in which the construction industry can easily collaborate, access the most up-to-date project information and automate traditionally manual processes, to save time, eliminate human error – and increase productivity.”

Unlocking growth in construction will not only help economies and societies, but individual construction companies that adopt productivity-enhancing technology can also demonstrate greater value and become more competitive, thanks to more predictable project delivery and less firefighting.
