The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) contract for upgrades to the Govan subway station and the neighbouring bus station is part of an ongoing £288m subway modernisation programme.
Govan, which services around one million passengers a year, will be the seventh subway station to be modernised. The station will get a new look, with glass-covered walkways connecting to the adjacent bus station.
An aim of the project is to improve access in and out of Glasgow city centre and to the new South Glasgow Hospitals complex.
Other improvements will include a new modern ticket office and new flooring.
The Interchange refurbishment is due for completion by the end of 2016.
