The buildings in the area of Kalasatama in Helsinki will have six to eight storeys, and altogether 193 apartments will be built. A part of the new homes will be subsidized or rental apartments. A joint parking facility will be built under the joint courtyard and on the ground floor there will be facilities for the residents as well as commercial facilities.

The new homes will have an automation and energy information system that makes it possible for the residents to monitor their own water and energy consumption and remotely control their electric devices with a web application. In the area, environmental efficiency has been taken into consideration for example through a suction system for household waste.

Construction work begins in April 2019 and all the residential block is scheduled for completion by early 2022.

Skanska is one of the leading development and construction companies in the Nordics, with operations in building construction and civil engineering in Sweden, Norway and Finland, and developing residential and commercial property projects in select home markets. The commercial development stream is also active in Denmark. Skanska had sales of about SEK 67 billion and more than 15,500 employees in its Nordic operations during 2018.
