Ideate Software, a veteran Autodesk Developer Network member, announced enhancements to Ideate BIMLink, its Revit productivity application that simplifies model management by facilitating the movement of data from Autodesk® Revit® software to Microsoft Excel for editing, and then back into Revit with speed, ease and accuracy.
“As we celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Ideate BIMLink, we enjoy looking back at the meaningful enhancements added with every release,” said Glynnis Patterson, Director of Software Development. “This fall, the big change is that we’ve simplified access to the hundreds of link definitions requested by customers. These link definitions contain all the properties needed to complete specific BIM workflow challenges.”
Here are highlights of the Ideate BIMLink updates that will make it easier for new and existing users to discover the hundreds of ways in which BIM data can be leveraged for productivity and quality control within the Revit project, template and family files:
- New “Beyond Schedules” folder to access non-schedule data such as text, dimensions, revision clouds and view templates
- A new customizable Home page with links to information to help users get up and running quickly
- The ability to create more elements from Excel via Ideate BIMLink, including sheets, model elements, views, viewports, levels and types
- New methods available for easy-to-deploy standardized network-hosted Ideate BIMLink content
