Derby City Council has appointed BAM Construction to its £35 million ($57.3 million) project to refurbish and rebuild its Council House in the UK.
The project involves construction of a bespoke One Stop Shop, new office space, a council chamber and members’ accommodation. The development includes many sustainable features and the building will be transformed into an A-rated environment. The new council building will be more energy efficient and the capacity of the building will increase from 500 to 1,900 people.
Earlier, the building has been subject to a strip out and demolition in preparation for the construction phase of the project. The project is being managed by Mace, a UK-based consultancy and construction company, for the council.
BAM Construction offers design services, including architecture, structural and environmental design, interior design, and CAD visualizations; facilities management services, including cleaning, catering, security, and building maintenance services.
