Carillion has commenced construction on a build-to-rent project, known as Angel Gardens, in Manchester’s NOMA district in the UK. The 36-storey development will cover an area of 48,310 sq m, and will feature 466 premium apartments and 2,040 sq m of commercial space.
The property will comprise a range of amenities, including a gym, cinema, resident lounges, co-working facilities, restaurants, shops and a multi-use roof terrace focused on health and wellbeing.
John Currie, Carillion’s North West operations director, said: “We are pleased to be working with Moda Living to carry out this prestigious development.
“Carillion has a strong presence in Manchester and has delivered several major projects in the city, which have created jobs, training opportunities for young people and supported local suppliers. The construction of Angel Gardens will continue in this vein and have a lasting impact in the city.”
Carillion was chosen by Moda Living and Apache Capital Partners to build the development, which is estimated to cost £154M.
Moda Living managing director Johnny Caddick said: “Angel Gardens will be a jewel in the Manchester skyline and make a significant contribution to the city’s housing needs through the provision of high quality rental homes.” * For more information on the UK construction market, visit the Construction Intelligence Center Report Store.
