Costain, the UK-based smart infrastructure solutions company, has appointed two new GIS leads as the company continues to expand its geospatial capability and services.

Orla McManus joins as head of GIS for new business and will be responsible for developing and delivering solutions for work-winning and consultancy services, having spent the majority of the last 10 years working for a range of public and private organisations including Ordnance Survey Ireland and ESRI Ireland.

Sophie Stouki has joined as head of GIS for operations, looking after Costain’s complex delivery contracts. With commercial experience across multiple industries (including civil engineering, insurance, natural hazards, environmental) Sophie will be responsible for leading in-house teams providing GIS-based solutions to operational projects and working with Orla to bring innovative solutions to drive business efficiencies.

Commenting on the appointments Matt Blackwell, digital operations director for Costain, said, “We are delighted to welcome two extremely talented and enthusiastic geospatial professionals to the team. I look forward to them building on our existing offering as we continue to integrate GIS-based solutions as part of our broader technology-based portfolio.”
