A new $16 million electronic off-ramp on the northbound Tri-State Tollway at Balmoral Avenue in Rosemont, Illinois, has been opened. Work included rebuilding the current southbound entrance ramp between Balmoral Avenue and Tri-State Tollway. The Balmoral Avenue bridge over I-294 has also been widened as part of the project.

The off-ramp will facilitate direct access to the new entertainment and shopping districts in the region which are under construction in the northern and southern portion of Balmoral, and Donald E. Stephens Convention Centre in Rosemont, Rosemont Theatre, and area hotels.

It will also offer alternative  access to O’Hare International Airport and provide access to Metra and CTA stations. Traffic bottlenecks on River Road are expected to be reduced with the opening of the new ramp. The project has been financed by both the village and tollway agency with the village contributing the upfront construction
funds. The village will be reimbursed for up to half of the cost via tolls from the ramp over the next 25 years.
