The Kingdom Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia has completed the first phase of an expansion project. The expansion in Phase I encompassed the third and fourth stories of the hospital. The expansion has increased the capacity of the hospital by twice its current capacity. It has led to the creation of a comprehensive cardiac intensive care unit, a care wing dedicated for children, and an intensive care unit for premature infants and newborns. The facility has also installed advanced medical equipment and devices for monitoring and to provide improved patient care. Other features to be incorporated in the hospital post expansion include cardiac catherisation unit, a cardiovascular surgery wing, an emergency chest pain department, as well as an obesity medical treatment centre.
