Smiths Waste Management, a Division of Smith’s (Gloucester) Ltd, has secured a prestigious contract with Countryman Fairs – the UK’s premier Game and Country Fairs organiser. Based in Derbyshire, Countryman Fairs organise five award-winning events across England from Cumbria to Sussex. Smiths have been awarded an open-ended contract to provide a total waste management service using their unique approach to Event Recycling Services at all of these events. James Herbert from Smiths Waste Management says: “Event Management is a growth area for Smiths and our contract with Countryman Fairs represents a milestone in the development of this part of the business. We will be providing a fully managed service to all five Game and Country Fairs, including our innovative Event Recycling Stand Service which offers the customer the opportunity to significantly increase the percentage of recycled products through all waste streams.”

Countryman Fairs’ Operations Director, Jerome Roberts also comments: “We are delighted to have awarded our Waste Management contract to Smiths. With their commitment to the environment and their multi-layered approach to recycling, we are confident that their business will meet our requirements and subscribe to Countryman Fairs’ own ethics and its environmental policy. With Smiths’ excellent reputation for innovation and integrity, we very much look forward to building a mutually beneficial working relationship in the year’s ahead.”

The first Countryman Fairs event this year is the Kelmarsh Game and Country Fair in Northamptonshire on the 16th & 17th April. Smiths will be providing their Total Waste Management Service for the event.
