The government of Bihar has approved a proposal by Arrissan Power Limited to build an INR72.6 million ($1.31 billion) thermal power plant in Bihar, India.

The power plant has been dubbed as Prabhawati Nagar power station and will be built at Prabhawati Nagar in Banka district of Bihar. The power plant will be a coal-fired power plant that will have a power generation capacity of 1,320MW and will consist of two 660MW units.

The thermal power project will also provide employment to 145 skilled and unskilled workers. Construction of the facility is likely to be completed in 42 months. The facility will be constructed by M/S Ericsson Power Limited. The thermal power project was accorded approval by the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) of Bihar in 2010.
