The Dutch government has signed a contract for a public-private partnership (PPP) to build a new courthouse in Breda. The design-build-finance-maintain-operate contract contract was signed between the central government real estate agency, Rijksvastgoedbedrijf, and a consortium InBalans. The consortium includes VolkerWessels, Facilicom and Macquarie Capital Group and the design is by Architekten Cie in collaboration with Paul de Ruiter Architects. Arup has been signed up for the structural design and building physics.

The development will incorporate separate facilities for the courthouse, the public prosecutor and the Child Care & Protection Board.

Completion is due in 2018.
