Detex Corporation, an industry leader in life safety and security door hardware for commercial properties, is now offering a weatherized version of its maximum-strength 230X multi-point hardware for back door security. Recently introduced and exclusive to Detex, the 230X is both a panic device and a three-point deadbolt designed to provide a new level of protection. Made to withstand crow bars and more, the 230X has top and bottom bolts with solid steel rods and a large side deadbolt with a full one-inch throw for deeper penetration into the frame than other locks in the category. Testing proves that a 230X-secured door withstands 10,000 pounds of pull force. And now the 230X-W offers all the advantages of the 230X, plus full protection against corrosive weather environments.
Now available weatherized, “The 230X-W is a welcome addition to the product line, because many back doors and gates take a beating from rain, snow, salt fog, or extreme temperatures, and that’s hard on any mechanism,” said Ken Kuehler, national accounts manager for Detex Corporation. “This weatherized option is a good solution for business owners who want high-level 230X security but have to deal with the practicalities of their situation.”
The new weatherized 230X-W was tested specifically for its ability to withstand Salt Fog (Mil 810F, G; 509.4); Driving Rain (Mil 810F, G; 506.4; Procedure 1); Temperature Extremes (Section 33, -31F to +151F); and Dust (Section 53). It passed all the tests and met or exceeded all the standards.
Life safety and code compliant, the 230X-W serves as both panic hardware and a maximum-strength locking device. It is available in single, double, or three-point dead bolt models.
