SES Engineering Services has completed £7.4 million M&E project for bet365 – world’s largest online gambling company
SES Engineering Services on a hot streak as it completes £7.4 million M&E project for bet365 Leading national engineering specialist, SES Engineering Services, has completed a £7.4 million mechanical and electrical (M&E) project to deliver a new flagship building for bet365 – the world’s largest online gambling company.
Located in Stoke-on-Trent, the new three-storey office block will house a 24/7 call centre and up to 2,500 staff.
Given the client’s round-the-clock online operations, the provision of a highly resilient electrical infrastructure was crucial and SES’ work included the installation of two Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) rooms to guarantee power in the event of any supply failures.
George Fletcher, Operations Manager, Midlands said that with 24-hour energy resilience a major priority on the project, SES also installed 370 solar panels, which will generate approximately 71,000 kilowatt hours of electricity per year, a huge sustainability boost. The 24/7 nature of the client’s operations meant that this was no ordinary office block, integrity of the services infrastructure was key for the client with their round-the-clock electricity supply.
“Working in partnership with SISK, SES provided full M&E services and we’re exceptionally proud to have delivered a best-in-class office building which combines sustainable energy production and Uninterruptible Power Supplies.”
With more than 2,000 lights and 60,000 metres of cable required in the electrical installations, the use of the latest digital engineering practices and SES’ leading Building Information Modelling (BIM) system was essential to ensuring the effective co-ordination and fit of the various design elements.
The building is due to open this month with a staged transfer of staff over a number of days from their current location.
