Skanska has signed a USD 67 M contract, about SEK 631 M, with the Massachusetts Port Authority to construct a new canopy over the Terminal C departures level curbside at Logan International Airport, Boston, MA. The contract will be included in order bookings for Skanska USA in the second quarter of 2019.
The initial phase of the contract, worth USD 15 M, about SEK 141 M, was included in the first quarter order bookings.
Construction also will include an expansion and infill of the departures upper-level curbside deck, improvements and enlarging of the pick-up and drop-off areas at Terminal C Departures / Arrivals plazas. The project also includes the demolition of the existing canopy, removal of two existing elevators and the installation of three new elevators. The scope also includes the construction of both the Transportation Network Companies (TNC) pick-up and drop-off on the ground floor of the central and west parking garages and new structural floors in the footprints of the old elevator shafts.
Construction will begin in November 2019 and is scheduled to be complete by late 2021.
