Steel engineering firm Waagner Biro has landed a AED2.1m contract on the Al Raha Beach Development in Abu Dhabi.

The firm has been brought on as a subcontractor by Al Futtaim Carillion to undertake scour protection and excavation and dredging services.

Built alongside 5.2m m2 of natural beach front, Al Raha Beach Development will house up to 120,000 residents and consists of eleven precincts, each with their own distinct personalities and appeal, on the beach side of the main highway leading into Abu Dhabi from Dubai.

Waagner’s portion of the work is scheduled to finish in May this year, said CEO Peter Brechtelsbauer.
