UAE-based Engineering Contracting Company (ECC) has been appointed by Dubai Properties (DP) as the main contractor for the $217.8m (AED800m) Dubai Wharf project in Culture Village.

Dubai Properties, the real estate arm of Dubai Holding, said that construction on Dubai Wharf is underway and is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2017.

The project features four towers with 582 residential units, 150 retail, dining and entertainment units on the ground and first floors, and more than 2,000 resident and visitor car parking spaces at basement level.

Apartments are located in the second to eighth floors, which include 91 studios, 147 one bedroom, 276 two bedroom and 68 three bedroom units.

As part of the project, new pedestrian bridges will be built over the canal to provide full connectivity through the Culture Village developments. Three pedestrian accesses will provide convenient seamless entry points to Dubai Wharf, retail facilities and the canal promenade.

“The project features four towers with 582 residential units, 150 retail, dining and entertainment units on the ground and first floors.”

Dubai Properties spokesperson Mohammad Al Habbai said: “With its unique contemporary design, Dubai Wharf will be one of DP’s flagship projects in the up and coming Culture Village district.

“This news comes only one month after the project launch, which is a significant milestone for DP and our commitment to delivering this project on time.”

Engineering Contracting Company general director KhodrAldah said: “We are going to commence construction this month and are fully committed to ensuring the project is ready for occupation by early 2017.”

Dubai Wharf is located near Al Jaddaf Metro Station and is easily accessible from Al Khail Road/Business Bay Crossing and Al Jaddaf Road.
